| These lakes are at Villeneuve-de-la-Raho and are perfect for the whole family. There is one large swimming lake with a sandy bed which is shallow, graduating to a good swimming depth. You can hire boats here and there is a small Aquapark at the rear. Choose from one of two beachside bars, where food and drink are served all day and if you like to cycle or walk, the the distance around the lakes is 7km. | The fishing lake is teeming with carp and there are lovely areas all around the lake to make camp and fish. A tourists fishing licence is required and costs aproximately 30 euros for 15 days. Issued between 1st June and 30th Sept. | |||

| In the town of St. Jean Pla de Corts ( 8km) are two more lakes, 1 for swimming and 1 for fishing. These are surrounded by trees and vegetation and the river runs along beside them. | The popular market town of Ceret is 7km away, with a bustling Saturday market where many local wines, food, clothes artisan jewellery, pottery and much more can be purchased. There are many festivals held here including the famous cherry festival held in May and the Féria (the annual bull) run held in July. There are plenty of restaurants, cafe's and bars and the Museum of Modern Art in the centre which displays the pictures of Picasso and Matisse and other well known artists. | ||
